Deity: Lord Shiva is venerated here as Annamalaiyar or Arunachaleswara, symbolized by the Agni Lingam, representing the element of fire. His consort, Parvati, is worshipped as Unnamulai Amman.
Architectural Highlights:Four impressive gopurams (gateway towers), with the eastern tower rising to 66 meters, making it one of India's tallest temple towers. It also has a thousand-pillared hall, a testament to the Vijayanagara dynasty's craftsmanship.
